How we are funded

This page tells you where the Housing and Support Alliance's money comes from.
The money used to run H&SA comes from membership fees, training, consultancy work and grants.

Membership fees

Most of H&SA's money comes from membership fees. When members join, they know they are funding the free national advice service for people with learning disabilities, families and supporters.

Training, development  and consultancy

The H&SA provides training, development and consultancy to members and non-members. We keep at least 20% of the fees to run the advice service, produce information and run workshops for people with learning disabilities and families.

Grants

H&SA has some grants for specific projects. From 2012-2015, we have a grant from the Department of Health Voluntary Sector Grants programme for our Keeping it Local courses across England.

Most of the money goes into our direct services to people with learning disabilities, families and members.

Our overheads are very low because we make the most of IT, a virtual office and flexible working.
