Supported Living:
a service or a life?

Tuesday November 22nd 2016 – 9.30 - 16.30
Manchester Conference Centre

Our conferences are always challenging and bring together leading self advocates, families and professionals to debate and share the latest thinking in helping people with learning disabilities have better lives. This year our conference will be co-hosted with LDE associate members Association for Quality Checkers, NDTi and Paradigm. It is themed around supported living and the challenges we face to make sure people are in control of what happens in their lives and ensuring rights are central to how people live.

Speakers include: Suzie Fothergill, chair of the Association of Quality Checkers, Norman Lamb MP, Gary Bourlet, Learning Disability England, Rob Greig, NDTi and many more...

This conference will give you the space to think about what really matters and could change the way you work, your practice or your life.

This conference will be about setting out what supported living should be and how people with learning disabilities can reclaim control over how they live. The conference will look at the reality of dwindling social care funding and look at how people can get the support they need and commissioners meet their legal duties.

We will look at new ways of providing housing and support, if and how commissioners and providers are managing successfully within the current climate.

This conference will celebrate the strength of bringing people, families and organisations together within Learning Disability England and will draw on our vast collective experience to answer some of the challenges we face today.

"It was well organised, very clear, totally
inclusive, from my perspective there was
not any area that required improvement."

"Continue doing what you are doing,
and continue to drive up quality."

"The best conference of the year!
Looking forward to the next one!"
